DIAGRAM: The left wing back goes into motion prior to the snap. The QB receives the snap, pivots and throws either a backward pass or lateral to the wing back. After getting the ball to the wing back, the QB takes off and runs a pass route to the left flat. The wing back passes to the QB.

This play is set up and becomes more effective when you throw a lot of swing passes. The key to success on this play is to have the first pass (A) look like a swing pass and it will set the defenders up to cover the “swing pass” and the QB’s route will be left uncovered.
