A 4-receiver set forces the defense to spread out in the red zone. The following are four plays run out of a 4-receiver set that we’ve had success with in the red zone.
DIAGRAM 1: “Ace” Jet Sweep Left. The Jet Sweep helps to keep your opponent conscious of an attack to the outside. The offensive line can either zone block or you can have the play-side OG pull and crack with your outside receiver.

DIAGRAM 2: “Ace” Fullback Dive Left. Diving the FB through the A-gap keeps the inside LBs occupied. If your opponent starts favoring the outside because of the Jet Sweep, you can use this play effectively. The offensive line should wedge to the play-side OG.

DIAGRAM 3: “Ace” Bounce Right. Once your opponent begins to react to the dive play, you can use play-action and run a bounce pattern to the right side, forcing a 1-on-1 situation with the backside CB.

DIAGRAM 4: “Ace” Pick Left. A pick pass can also be used off the same play action and motion as the bounce play.
