DIAGRAM: The receiver on the left side of the field runs an 8-yard post. The tight end runs a shallow cross (about 7 yards). The slot receiver on the right runs a vertical pattern with the far right receiver running a 15-yard out pattern. The fullback sets a lead block to draw in the LB who is keying the run. If LB commits to run, QB hits TE on cross in the vacated zone behind the LB. If the LB doesn’t commit, QB keeps the ball and runs into the vacant zone. At that point, the FB turns into the lead blocker. This is an excellent play to isolate an overaggressive LB or a LB with limited lateral speed.
