DIAGRAM: The quick pitch is designed to get the edge without blocking the defense end. The tailback’s alignment is inside foot on the outside hip of the offensive tackle. The quarterback opens the play and underhand tosses to the TB. The TB must take two lateral steps before taking the ball to the perimeter. The OT veer-releases or arc-releases on the the first LB to the play side, depending on the alignment of the DE. The offensive guard cuts the play-side thigh of the defensive tackle and the backside of the line scoop-blocks, except for the center, who takes care of the play-side A-gap to the backside LB. The fullback goes play-side B-gap (to hold the LB and also to set up the belly or veer option later in this package). The receivers stalk or run the defenders off depending on the coverage.
