DIAGRAM: We use this trips set often in our run-and-sprint passing game. Against Cover-3 or man coverage, putting the FB into motion to a flanker position forces the defense to shift and it often moves the FS out of the middle. This gives you a 1-on-1 situation with both your TE and TB. The TB is often covered by a LB.
If the FS doesn’t leave the middle, the QB reads him and attacks the seam route that he does not cover.
