The backside guard blocks the defensive tackle in front of him. The center blocks the linebacker to his left as the play side tackle is to block the linebacker to the center’s right. The play side guard handles the defensive tackle in front of him. The outside wide receiver blocks the outside linebacker. The quarterback pitches to the halfback, then leads through the hole and takes out the cornerback if the corner is playing soft.
