DIAGRAM: Base Right, 65. This is a sideline zone buster play that picks on the flat defender. In this play the TE should be wide open if the defender expands into the flat. If the defender sits, then the flat is open. Run this play from a trips formation as your third receiver is probably a better athlete than the defender trying to cover him. H is the receiver going to the flat while Y (the TE) runs a square-out. If the defense is in a Cover 2, the Z receiver finds the seam between the safeties. Depending on the game situation, X runs a deep drag or a post to hold the safety. Ninety percent of the time, Y is the receiver who is open.
