DIAGRAM: The TE makes an inside release. If he’s facing a 7-tech, the TE should attack the defender’s inside number and then hit his route. The right OT blocks for a 46 Counter sweep, locks onto his defender and drives him back. The rest of the O-linemen and FB also block for the sweep, except that they do not go downfield. Receiver Z runs off the corner and X runs a skinny post. The TB carries out the sweep fake, finds a seam outside the end man on the LOS and runs an upfield route.
The QB carries out the sweep fake and rolls out, looking for the open receiver. Instruct him not to set up short — he must keep sprinting out.
