How to Increase Your Quarterback’s Speed

Speed training for the quarterback is mostly the same as for the other skill positions. We stress running mechanics, high focus and variate their training to some QB specific movements.
I have always found it very easy to work with quarterbacks regarding speed for two simple reasons. Most QBs spend most of their time on learning the game as a QB so they typically don’t make the time to focus on how to become faster. So when they improve it is usually by a large margin. Second, QBs are very mentally quick. They have to be in order to be successful. They train to think while in motion. They think and process large amounts of information and progressions in seconds.
