We believe communication on defense is one of the most important factors in defensive success. We are talking about the entire spectrum of communication including signals, calls-with or without a huddle, pre-snap verbal and non-verbal communications and calls during a play. To the end of improving communication, we group all the offensive formations into ‘families’ or groups that share similar traits or characteristics.
